ABOUT US

Our experience as providers of ABA services has been crucial in guiding us towards an emphasis on processes in helping us guarantee unique, consistent and ongoing care.

Identifying and teaching replacement behaviors are an important first step in treatment for Behavior Analysts. To begin therapy, we will identify those skills and behaviors that need to be strengthened or learned and teaching new skills that are functionally relevant to the target behaviors.

We realize that targets must be re-assessed periodically throughout all stages of treatment, with new behaviors targeted as appropriate. This approach involves the client and those closest to them to assist in the process of developing target behaviors. Our successful process has helped us provide high quality services for children, adolescents and adults impacted with varying learning disabilities, not only individuals impacted by Autism Spectrum Disorder.

OUR SERVICES
Focused Treatment
As outlined by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board for the treatment of Autism Spectrum Disorders and other related disorders. Focused ABA treatment is described in the Guidelines as “...treatment provided directly to the learner for a limited number of behavioral targets [functional skills, problem behaviors].” Intensity levels in a range of 10-25 hours per week are mentioned, with the caveat that the intensity may need to be higher depending on the nature of the target behaviors and other considerations, individualized to each learner. For instance, behaviors that put the learner and/or others at risk of harm may well warrant high-intensity focused ABA treatment for some period of time. Those may include maladaptive behaviors to be reduced and/or adaptive behaviors that need to be developed or strengthened in order to enhance the learner’s health, safety, and overall functioning.

Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA)
An FBA is an approach that incorporates a variety of techniques and strategies to understand the causes and to identify likely interventions intended to address problem behaviors. In other words, the FBA looks beyond the demonstrated behavior and focuses, instead, upon identifying biological, social, affective, and environmental factors that initiate, sustain, or end the target behavior. This approach is important because it leads the observer beyond the “symptom” (the behavior) to the underlying motivation for it.
Caregiver / Parent Training
Parent and Caregiver training is in alignment with the FBA process and teaches those close to the learner how to assist with behavior intervention strategies with teaching them new skills such as communication.
